Dave Fastnedge - Managing Director
I have been with Techspan since 1980.
I have studied architectural draughting, electrical engineering, and business management.
I previously worked as an architectural draughtsman, insurance underwriter, and broker. Having lived in Perth, Western Australia for several years, I am now based in Auckland, New Zealand, and very happily married (40 years) to Maria. We have 2 adult children and 3 grandchildren, and a small menagerie of animals on several acres.
I‘m passionate about our business, and I’m absolutely dedicated to the success of Techspan Group – to be the leading provider of our 5 core products. I‘m a firm believer in the power of positive thinking, and I’m extremely proud of our winning team, who work extremely hard to give exceptional quality service to our customers !
My interests include DIY, aviation, boating, good food, wine, and travel.
Tim Fastnedge - Marketing Director
I am responsible for technical sales of a variety of Techspan products, and I also take care of the group’s marketing, graphic design, and development of the group website.
I began with Techspan in technical service, building a good product knowledge.
I previously worked for a divisIon of Techspan‘s Furniture manufacturing company in the late 80’s.
Music was my first love, starting with the high school band. Later having worked professionally on the night club circuit in the mid 80’s. An early interest in electronics has proved invaluable in my position today.
I later developed a passion for aviation, after flying with my brother Dave. This developed into an obsession for skydiving. I did my first jump back in ’95, and today boast well over a thousand jumps. I hold a couple of national skydiving titles, and today I run an annual skydive charity event Jump Start, which provides a skydiving experience for teenagers living with cancer and the foundation for youth development.
Interests – family life, music, skydiving, and living life to the full.
Jon Fastnedge - Finance Director
I am married to Bernadette and we have three children: Dominica 23, Rebeka 18 and Isaac 15.
In my spare time I can be found working outside on my lifestyle block which is located in the out backs of Henderson Valley.
On the farm, we run sheep, horses, goats and chickens and we share the farm with many domestic pets as well.
Brendan van Wyk - Technical Sales - Plastic Welding & Process Heating, Ancillaries
I have been with the company since December 2008.
My main role with the company is – Technical sales of our wide range of Plastics Machinery. I previously worked as Accounts assitant and customer service, among many other various roles – located in the Auckland Head office.
I was born in Durban, South Africa in 1986.
My family immigrated New Zealand when I was 8 years of age. I now consider myself a Kiwi.
My interests include: Aviation, Shooting, Cars and Computer gaming.
Craig Iversen - Technical Sales - Thermal Print Media
I handle technical sales covering a number of products including: thermal transfer ribbons, hot stamping foils, Pad printing consumables.
I have a beautiful young family with my partner Linda. We have three young children.
When not spending time with them, I enjoy going to see live home grown music, socializing with good mates, Grass roots rugby, weekends on the Coromandel, jamming with friends, and playing in my two piece band ‘Grub Street’
Darryl Smith - Technical Service Manager
I originally started with Techspan in 1994 and left briefly in 1998 only to return later that same year.
My role with Techspan is as the company service manager.
I am 44 years old and have 4 daughters ranging in age from 7 to 18 years old.
I’m a keen motorcyclist and my current pride and joy is a Ducati 848 superbike.
My interests include family life, motorcycles and motorcycle racing, music, travelling, good food and red wine, running and general fitness, DIY
Aman Pandohal - Technical Service Engineer
I joined the company in May 2013 as the company Technical Service Engineer.
My family and I migrated to New Zealand in 2003 from Punjab, India. I got married to my sweet and caring wife in 2011.
I have studied engineering and qualified with a Diploma of Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering Technology, with major in Mechatronics.
My interests include family life, photography, new technology, adventure, hiking, general fitness and travelling. Being a DIY person I like spending time in my garage at home.
Bernadette Fastnedge - PA to the Finance Director
I have been married to Jon Fastnedge for 25 years. We have three children ages 15, 19 and 24 years old.
We live on a lifestyle block in the foothills of the Waitakeres, which we share with our children and various animals.
I worked for many years as a legal PA and I now work a couple of days a week at Techspan. The other days of the week I enjoy working on my photography business.
Rob Key - Accounts Administrator
I am 22 years old and started with Techspan in August 2010.
I am the company Accounts Administrator, among many other various roles.
I was born and raised in Auckland and am of Samoan descent.
My interests include: all kinds of sport especially rugby league and union, good food and spending time with my family.
Dominica van Wyk - Office Manager
I am 23 years of age. I have been with the company since June 2013, and prior to that I worked part time for the company.
My role is Office Manager.
My interests include: Competitive horse riding, and horse breeding and training.
Ben Shaw - Warehouse Assistant
Ben joined the company in June 2013.
Ben’s roles include – despatch, stores, and operation of the company’s High Speed Conversion plant, in the manufacture of Thermal Transfer Ribbons.
Ben is located at the Industrial Printing Systems factory in Auckland, New Zealand.
